Well, in Elementum I select this other NVME disk for caching torrent and Elementum accept the path but during a torrent download it was not able to write the file so I suspect that Elementum via ElementumService doesn't have permission to write on this NVME memory.Quick Guide: How to Install a VPN on Kodi On my Nvidia Shield TV I have another external disk (on the other USB port), this is another fast NVME memory. Don't know if can depends of ElementumService or it depends of the new Android 11 on the Shield. So it seems some slowness to write and read movies (torrent) from disk.
Well, now that the Shield is Android 11 I'm force to use ElementumService, OK it works also to copy torrent file into my internal disk (that is this SSD disk) but during downloading and playing a 2160p (4K) movie Kodi skip lots of frame and the playback is not smooth.įor test I have switched the torrent cache in Elementum from disk to memory (RAM) and the issue disappear. Well, before the upgrade to Android 11 all worked fine and fast, I was able to download torrent with Elementum also at 50 MB/sec on that SSD disk and play in the same file in the same time (in Elementum I set to use disk to cache, not the RAM). The SSD disk is very fast and connected to USB 3 of the Nvidia Shield TV. Since the Nvidia Shield TV has only 16GB of internal disk space in the past I extended the internal space with a 300GB SSD disk. I tried to change this to use the directory mentioned above but it obviously fails since those files belong to a diferent app (the Elementum Service) and Kodi can't access them. My library is currently configured to use the special://temp/elementum_library/Movies directory which translates to /storage/emulated/0/Android/data//files/.kodi/temp/elementum_library/Movies. I can see the movies are added to /storage/emulated/0/Android/data//files/.kodi/temp/elementum_library/Movies but this is not the directory that Kodi is using in the library, so I think this is the reason why I don't see updates on my library. Took me a while to pinpoint the issue but I believe it's because of this that you mentioned on the README:
I've noticed that after installing the Elementum service, my library stopped being updated when I added new movies to the library via Elementum. I'm running Kodi on a Shield Pro (Android 11). The output from the binaries will no longer appear in Kodi's log and will go to Android's log instead.
You'll no longer be able to use paths to Kodi's data folder as they will be translated to the service app's data folder. Notesįrom now on when Elementum starts its daemon it'll actually start the service app and when it stops it'll stop the service app.
When the addon completes installation it'll start the service app which may ask you for some Android permissions.
